PUTTING MORE MONEY IN YOUR POCKET
Sean is committed to ensuring that Michigan puts money back into workers’ pockets. He is a staunch supporter of repealing the Retirement Tax, which would save Michigan seniors an average of $1,000 a year and expanding the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC), a proven tool to lift working families out of poverty and put food on the table.
COMPETING FOR JOBS
Quality public schools, higher education and skilled trades programs are the key to a talented workforce. Sean was proud to support bipartisan legislation that enables Michigan to attract billions in investment and create tens of thousands of good paying jobs. He has also supported Futures For Frontliners, which rewarded our frontline workers with tuition assistance to public community colleges, as well as Reconnect, which is a scholarship program that pays to attend in-district community colleges.
PROTECTING OUR WATER
Dangerous chemicals like PFAS and other sources of pollution have threatened our water in recent years. Sean has made it his mission to protect our state’s most precious resource. He has led initiatives to ensure Michigan can establish tough environmental regulations, hold the polluters of the Kalamazoo River accountable and has consistently voted in favor of dollars to address our greatest water concerns. Sean also continues to stay engaged in weekly calls with local leaders regarding PFAS cleanup in our community.
EDUCATION AND CHILDCARE
Throughout the pandemic, our students, educators, and childcare providers have been hit hard. Sean worked across the aisle to support record funding for K-12 schools and childcare workers. Sean continues to advocate on behalf of WMU, KVCC and higher education institutions. And Sean remains committed to ensure college is more accessible by support programs like Reconnect and Futures for Frontliners.
